Codruta Harsan was furloughed from her job as an Administrative Assistant at a city law firm at the start of April and is using the time to get CIPD qualified and kick start her career in HR.She enrolled on our Intermediate Certificate in Human Resource Management fast track programme just six weeks ago and is already on her third module, so almost halfway through her qualification! Her aim is to use her CIPD qualification to help her gain an HR role in the future.
I love HR and knowing that the sooner I finish my course, the easier it will be to find a new job in an area I enjoy and where I can really make a difference is very motivating. I have worked in HR in Romania where I am from and I have always liked coming up with ideas to improve work and make it easier for my colleagues to be more efficient. Even before the pandemic hit, I saw the need for more flexible and easy to follow working procedures.
Case Study: Codruta Harsan is speeding through her Online Fast Track CIPD Certificate in lockdown
“I was looking at CIPD providers before lockdown and Watson Martin stood out because of the flexibility it provides and the one-to-one support from a personal adviser. I knew I wanted to study online and learn at my own pace and the fast track approach works very well for me.
I try to keep to a strict schedule to work on my studies. There is so much useful information to read through and research on the VLE that I am probably working close to eight hours a day, basically using my former working hours to progress with my studies. I attended an online webinar recently on Resourcing and Talent Planning, which was very broad and detailed. It was good to work on a group activity with other students and hear what they are doing.
“Working with my adviser Amanda is very easy as we use Zoom for our calls. I submit my first draft, she provides feedback and then it is marked quickly. I am waiting for news about my job but if I am being furloughed for longer I hope to finish the programme in record time.”
