Asterios Ozounis is a Performance Delivery Manager with British Airways and was furloughed in April. An experienced HR practitioner, he is unsure about whether he will be returning to his role due to the current circumstances in the airline industry. As a result, Asterios decided to use the time to develop his career and with over 20 years’ in HR under his belt, a level 7 CIPD qualification was the best fit. He recently started an Advanced Certificate in Human Resources with Watson Martin and opted for our fast track online delivery route. His goal is to finish the qualification before the end of the summer and whilst not looking too far ahead, a quick review of the current jobs market made him realise a CIPD qualification was essential for most HR positions.
I joined BA in 2001 first working as a frontline manager before moving into the HR arena. After a major reorganisation I became a performance delivery manager at Heathrow airport. I have lots of practical experience in HR but don’t always know the theory. I hope the qualification will give me the skills and knowledge I need to improve my work whether it is at BA or in another role.
